One and Two Sided Crochet Leaf

An easy crochet leaf you can use in several ways. You may use it under a bloom for your crochet toy project or for a cute headband. Also you can deside if you want to crochet amigurumi one sided or two sided leaf.

Two crochet leaves

This fun pattern uses just basic crochet stitches and will only take minutes to make. It’s a great way to use up a small amount of yarn.

One Sided Crochet Leaf

Easy to make quick crochet leaf to support your flowers projects.

Materials

  • Yarn - Schachenmayr Catania Originals (No. 0205)

Tools

  • Hook 2.5 mm
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Instructions

  • R 1 - chain 11
  • R 2 - sc in 3d chain from hook, hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, tr in the next, 2 tr in the next, tr in the next, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, work [2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc] in last chain.
  • Working on the other side of the chain, hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, tr in the next, 2 tr in the next, tr in the next, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, sc in the last sl st.
  • At this point you can cut the yarn if you do not want the leaf with a stem and stalk.
  • Stem - ch 1, sl st, insert the hook in the center of your leaf, in the first ch from R 1 - yo and pull through the leaf and the loop on the hook, continue working the slip stitches all the way up the center of the leaf. At the end ch 6. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

The leaf itself is really handy and quick to finish, nothing less, for this particular project I needed it to be more dense. So I doubled the pattern, by crocheting continuously from the first leaf to the second leaf and joining them into one without interruption.

Leaf No. 1

  • R 1 - chain 11
  • R 2 - sc in 3d chain from hook, hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, tr in the next, 2 tr in the next, tr in the next, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, work [2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc] in last chain.
  • Working on the other side of the chain, hdc in the next, 2 dc in the next, tr in the next, 2 tr in the next, tr in the next, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, sc in the last sl st. [27]
  • At this point you can continue with leaf No. 2 if you do not want the leaf with a stem and stalk.
  • Stem - ch 1, sl st, insert the hook in the center of your leaf, in the first ch from R 1 - yo and pull through the leaf and the loop on the hook, continue working the slip stitches all the way up the center of the leaf. At the end of the first leaf DO NOT cut yarn.

Leaf No. 2

  • R 1 - chain 12 (the first chain is connecting ch)
  • R 2 - sc in 3d chain from hook, hdc in the next ch, 2 dc in the next ch, tr in the next ch, 2 tr in the next ch, tr in the next ch, 2 dc in the next ch, hdc in the next ch, work [2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc] in the last chain.
  • Working on the other side of the chain, hdc in the next ch, 2 dc in the next, tr in the next, 2 tr in the next, tr in the next, 2 dc in the next, hdc in the next, sc in the last sl st. [27]
  • If you applyed stem for the first leaf, you can add stem to this second leaf as well.
  • R 3 - join the first leaf with sl st at the first stitch of R 2. You are going to work with the second leaf faced to you and first leaf is faced to the second leaf with the wrong side.
  • Now you will work on the flo of the second leaf and blo of the first leaf. Insert hook in the first blo and flo and make a sc, 12 scs, 3sc in the next st, 13 scs, sl st to the first stitch.
  • Cut yarn and weave it invisibly to the leaf or let a long tail to sew the leaf to the other project.

Congratulation! You made your first doubled leaf

Notes

Leaves are perfectly symetric, so does’t metter if you do apply final stem or you don’t.
